The Club Beneath the Stage at the Forest Opera in Sopot—once inaccessible to the public and reserved as a meeting place for artists during concerts and festivals—has recently opened its doors to a wider audience. It is here, in the space just below the main stage, that a new series, “Conversations Beneath the Stage,” begins—featuring meetings with outstanding and inspiring personalities connected to the Forest Opera.
 

On April 18, a meeting with Izabela Trojanowska will take place—an expressive artist who has long been regarded as one of the most important figures on the Polish music scene. She is remembered for such hits as “Wszystko, czego dziś chcę” and “Tyle samo prawd ile kłamstw.” To this day, she impresses audiences with her stage energy, distinctive style, and strong, independent artistic personality. She is also widely recognized for her numerous theatre roles and appearances in popular television productions.

The event will be hosted by Ewa Gil-Kołakowska—a journalist, writer, and satirist who has been associated for years with the Review of Actor’s Song Festival.

The conversation will be accompanied by a presentation of photographs from the artist’s private archive. In her work, the host explores the phenomenon of artistic song, combining analytical insight with a genuine passion for the stage.The evening will be complemented by a 30-minute cabaret and musical performance titled “Pio-scenka.” Ścibor Szpak—lyricist, comedian, and laureate of numerous national cabaret festivals—will take the stage. His performance will blend monologue, vocals, and live accompaniment on guitar and ukulele, offering a creative interpretation inspired by Izabela Trojanowska’s artistic achievements and stage image.“Conversations Beneath the Stage” is a series that opens the world of artists to the audience—a space that once pulsed with festival life and now fosters intimate, authentic conversations in a unique setting.
